![]() Today has been a long day. As I sit here at Starbucks with my well deserved green tea frap, I reflect on all I have accomplished today. Forget the fact that I have not touched my lesson plans for next week. That will be saved for tomorrow when it will be rainy and nasty. Today was a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy everything besides the Bradford pear trees. Those trees can go straight to hell which is where they came from. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about is thinking the same thing. ![]() The morning began bright and early. After hitting the ATM for bike money, I headed to the shelter to start getting dogs ready for their race! We left the shelter at 8:15am and headed to Ayden. The dogs got to meet a lot of people and we made a couple of love connections! As I put my furry friend in the car to head back to the shelter, I met Julie and her husband, who had my bike! My dog, Dottie, curled up in my drivers seat and went to sleep as I hooked up my bike rack. They helped my to get my bike on the rack and keep the wheel from hitting the rear bumper. Soon I was ready to go. As we drove to the shelter I kept looking at my rearview mirror and couldn't help but feel so excited. This bike is only about 5 pounds lighter than my hybrid, but the setup is so different and it's fast! Julie had the bike when she lived in England and said that she loved the bike so much that she had it shipped to America. This bike has been around the world and THAT is awesome! ![]() In the evening I met Stephanie and Gina for a bike ride. I figured what better way to break in a bike than to throw down 20+ miles! I only had to use a few gears and the bike did wonderful! It's amazing how much speed you pick up from riding low on the handlebars. I felt like a real cyclist! I am keeping my hybrid, but this bike makes me feel legit. Did I mention the bike has won some races?? It must be good luck!! Tomorrow is a sacred rest day and boy do I need it. I need to lesson plan! Workout Summary: Total Distance: 21.?? Total Time: 1:28 Average speed: (coming soon) Top Speed: (coming soon) Today's mantra: Life is good. Take a deep breath and enjoy it!
