School started and I remained busy for many more weeks. In the last two weeks I have been able to start getting a little more volume in my training but I am stressing out a bit with my race that is coming up next Sunday. I have a new trisuit that I have not had time to try out in the pool yet. There will be so much to do this week to be ready. I don't feel as prepared as I would like to be but I have to take a step back and see how far I have come even with this injury. There is plenty of time for Ironman 70. 3 training and I have to remain healthy for that.
I have rediscovered the benefits of doing daily yoga. I completed a 30 day yoga challenge and that opened my eyes to new stretches geared specifically for what has been hurting. I now do these stretches EVERY day and I am also working on the foam roller, particularly with my piriformis. I am beginning to think that's the root of my pain. (Literally a pain in my butt!)
I joined a fitness group called "Fit Camp" three weeks ago as a way to lose weight and get in some extra workouts. The only way I can be successful in weight loss is by having someone hold me accountable for the number on the scale. There is no shame with this group, but I use it for the motivation aspect. I know I eat more sweets that I should and by writing down everything I eat, I am more aware of what I am doing. I have a few pounds to lose so that I feel ready to begin training in January.
Overall I feel like I am finally getting back on track. Perhaps I needed something to shake it up a bit. I am not rehabbing anything. . . I am REBUILDING! This machine is coming back with an attitude!
