I started my workout at 7pm and felt good from the start. The only problem I had was that my goggles kept leaking on my right eye. I tried several times to adjust them but could not get relief. After about 300 yards I jumped out of the pool and grabbed my spare pair. Here is my advise to everyone: always bring a backup pair of everything!!! Extra goggles, earplugs, and swim cap. Some days equipment you have been using since forever decides it's not going to cooperate. A while back I got some new goggles that have 180 degrees of visablity and I love them, most of the time. I had to switch to my Speedo Vanquishers and immediately. l felt like I had limited visability. The difference is amazing and one I highly recommend trying them out. You can see EVERYTHING! Minus feeling half blind with my now limited visibility, I continued on. I have learned so much in the last 6 months about swimming and there is always room for improvement. Good form is so important in the pool because water is a multiplier. Inefficiency is magnified!! Little changes in form can help you or hurt you greatly. By the end of the workout my arms were hurting, but in a good way! My arms are becoming the paddles that will get me through a 1.2 mile swim. My workout took me across over 2700 yards of water. That's just over 1.5 miles! Now I just have to do all of that and then get on the bike for 56 miles.... and then run a half marathon. :-) Nothing can stop this machine!
